A family-owned business, we make hardware and software to measure and analyze power quality measures for our data center and industrial manufacturing customers. Our North American branch was established in 2018 and our team is growing quickly. We’re looking for a Senior Firmware Developer to develop complex software systems and components as well as developing drivers for embedded systems. What you are

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Quality Manager will join our team in Ashburn, VA. As the Quality Manager at Janitza, you will be central to ensuring the quality of our power management solutions. Your role extends to overseeing the quality of products and services, implementing performance engineering processes, developing automated testing frameworks, and setting QA standards for internal and third-party products.

Your tasks

  1. QA and Testing Standards:
    • Work with technical leads to define and enforce QA and testing standards for internal and third-party products and applications.
    • Ensure these standards are consistently applied and meet industry best practices.
  2. Program Management:
    • Manage and drive implementation of large-scale quality programs across operational areas.
    • Oversee material handling elements and system integration for quality assurance.
  3. Problem Resolution and Vendor Coordination:
    • Evaluate design and execution problems, proposing actionable resolutions.
    • Lead coordination between internal teams and vendors, focusing on quality improvements.
  4. Process Improvement and Standards:
    • Develop processes to eliminate defect injection and optimize quality in capital execution projects.
    • Drive consistency in quality standards across various projects and regions.
    • Develop, adapt, and optimize processes within the framework of ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Conduct data mining and analysis to inform quality improvements.
    • Regularly report to leadership on quality metrics, performance, and improvements.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
    • Liaise with business and technical leaders to ensure alignment of quality objectives.
    • Communicate effectively with various organizational levels and external partners.
  7. Quality Metrics for Product/Application Development:
    • Define and track quality metrics specifically for application development efforts.
    • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate quality metrics into development cycles.
    • Develop and monitor quality metrics throughout the entire product life cycle, and manage the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) teams.
  8. Performance Engineering Processes:
    • Design and implement Performance Engineering processes.
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of Performance Testing frameworks to ensure application efficiency and resilience.
  9. Automated Testing Development:
    • Work closely with the product development team on the creation of Automated Testing Scripts and Policies.
    • Oversee the integration of automated testing into the development lifecycle for consistent quality assurance.
  10. Travel Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel up to 25% to oversee projects and maintain quality standards.

Your profile

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, specifically in industrial, electrical, or power management sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing quality in large-scale projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in application development quality metrics and automated testing in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing automated testing scripts and policies.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques for quality assessment and improvement.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in leading and mentoring teams.
