Janitza LP is the North American arm of Janitza electronics GmbH, a leading German manufacturer of electrical power monitoring hardware and software. A family-owned business, we make hardware and software to measure and analyze power quality measures for our data center and industrial manufacturing customers. Our North American branch was established in 2018 and our team is growing quickly. We’re looking for a Senior Firmware Developer to develop complex software systems and components as well as developing drivers for embedded systems. What are we Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our sales team. The Data Center Business Development Manager will focus on expansion of sales in the data center market while optimizing sales strategies that meet the company’s goals. Additionally, react to and pursue specific partnership opportunities - develop relationships, craft business models, and participate in detailed proposals, negotiations and project management. This position reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in sales of technical electronic equipment related to low voltage power distribution, metering concepts, networking, PLC/HMI integration and industrial communication protocols. They should be able to identify opportunities with target customers, create a network, communicate clearly, travel for events and meetings across the US and Canada, and provide timely proposals.

Your tasks

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build a portfolio of data center business that aligns with Janitza’s strategic growth and retention goals.
  • Focus on getting Janitza products specified in data center build projects.
  • Evaluate needs, behaviors, and pain points of target customer personas (End Users) and key market segments, including actions of competitors.
  • Perform competitive analysis: review, gather, and analyze competitor information and provide insights accordingly.
  • Own and evangelize the value proposition to targets by creating an implementation strategy.
  • Develop market activation enablement tools through messaging, marketing, and content internally and externally, including sales and customers, to meet offering objectives.
  • Position offering based on target market and associated value, and execute the go-to-market plan.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create effective promotions that increase revenue through channel partners.
  • Attend annual events and trade shows specializing in the data center market to collect additional leads and push brand awareness.
  • Identify and support channel and partner needs through collateral, messaging, and direct contact.
  • Proactively develop new partner channels and ensure long-term optimization of channel mix by geography, product groups, and market segments.
  • Measure and ensure the effectiveness of the strategy, value proposition, and messaging in the go-to-market ecosystem.
  • Create resolution and get-well plans as needed to address execution conflicts in the market and underperforming offerings.

Your profile

Qualifications include:

  • Sales experience with a preferable electrical engineering or IT background to better understand and challenge customer needs for their electrical distribution systems.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the data center industry, with a focus on sales or business development.
  • Electrical project engineering experience with End Users, OEMs, Integrators, and Partners.
  • Leadership skills related to project management.
  • A strong drive to succeed, with an open, constructive, and persistent personality.
  • Social networking skills, both external and internal.
  • Ability to write extensive technical proposals, handle tender processing, and deliver presentations.
  • Experience in reviewing legal agreements, terms, and conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new tools, and focus on skills development to support success in the role.
  • Comfortable with giving video-recorded presentations and presenting in front of audiences.
  • Reside in a major US metro area within 1 hour of an international airport.
  • Experience in dealing with and coordinating remote teams.
  • Experience working with channel partners.

Preferred Qualification:

  • 3-5 years of electrical engineering or IT experience.
  • Experience working with sophisticated data center owners/operators.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in data center operations and industrial settings.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
